CURA CSS-200 Silk Sanada Cord & Leather Hand Strap (20 cm) - Red/Silver
Sanada string woven by Tosai Ichimura, the only Sanada Himoshi in the Kanto region who has inherited the family business that has continued since the Taisho period, is woven with a well-maintained wooden loom used since its founding.
This loom creates a unique thickness and supple string that Fujisai has no other.
The Sanada string of "Fujisai" is not only used by teachers who are famous in the tea ceremony and pottery world, but also a gem used for tea utensils and ceramic paulownia boxes stored in the Imperial Household Agency.
This product is a camera strap using Sanada string, a traditional craft.
*The paulownia box is not included.
What is Sanada himo?
It is said that it got its name because Yukimura Sanada, a military commander in the Sengoku period, and his father, Masayuki, used it as a "strong and strong string" for weapons and armor.
Even with the same string, the general braid is braided, and the Sanada string is said to be woven.
The Sanada string is woven with warp and weft, so it does not stretch, and it is a strong and durable string that is resistant to re-tying. It can probably be said to be the narrowest fabric in the world.
The impressive woven pattern unique to textiles is on the front and back of the string, so it has a unique beauty that other strings do not have. In the old days, it was also used for sword cords, tasuki, peddling cords, men's belts, etc.
Sanada string is characterized by the fact that there is a connecting part of the thread (see the image) in the weaving process.
In 2016, the NHK Taiga drama "Sanadamaru" with the theme of Sanada Yukimura, a busho who was the origin of Sanada Himo, was broadcast.
(The image is the family crest of Yukimura Sanada, "Rokumonsen".)
Commitment to Kura CURA Sanada string strap
The Sanada string strap of the first and second generations is designed to put the Sanada string itself in the front, and the ring is designed to pass directly through the Sanada string. In the second generation, by equipping leather as standard, we devised ways that the ring does not hit the camera body. And the current third generation has enhanced the robustness as a camera strap while expressing the beauty of the Sanada string, and arrived at a durable and beautiful form.
Commitment to the ring
The original brass ring is used for the ring type camera strap of Kura CURA, including the Sanada string strap. This ring is made of a metal called brass, which is also used in the body of antique cameras. Therefore, it is softer than the iron ring sold in general, not only is it less likely to damage the eyelets and body, but also easy to open when installed, and is gentle on the nails.
In the manufacturing process, it takes about 20 hours to slowly polish and finish it smoothly in order to apply chrome plating while eliminating metal burrs.
This not only gives off a beautiful shine, but also allows you to enjoy the aging of the brass base by using it.
Commitment to length
There are three types of Sanada string straps: 90cm, 120cm, and hand straps.
90cm is a length that is easy to shoot immediately by lowering the camera body in front of you when you put it on your neck. 120cm is a length that is easy to hold when you carry a camera for a longer time. And we have a lineup that makes it easy to carry a compact camera when you go out a little lower, and a lineup according to the size of the camera and shooting scene. (Model height 170cm)
Commitment to leather
The Sanada string strap uses high-quality genuine leather. Nume leather is not dyed, so it has a beautiful beige color at first, but you can enjoy the way it is aged to a more beautiful candy color while using it.
Precious technology and tradition that has been passed down
It is a Sanada hino in Ichimura that has continued since the Taisho period, but it seems that there were not a few people who weaved it before the war.
However, while there are many same businesses that were burned down in air raids during the war, or went out of business due to evacuation and confusion, they have miraculously recovered without being burned down and have been handed down to the present.
After the war, my work gradually recovered and I bought a mass-produced iron loom and produced it, but it was thick like before, and I couldn't weave beautiful things that were supp and wide, and now I'm still covered with dust behind the workshop, and I'm particular about the current wooden loom. I continue to weave the Sanada string.
Sanada Himo Ichimura, who has been known as a good Sanada Himoshi since its founding, and the weaving string of the third generation "Ichimura Tosai" is used by the Imperial Household Agency, the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the head of tea, the Goto Art Museum, the Nezu Art Museum, etc., and currently, Sanada Himoshi, who weaves with such a wooden loom, is a country It seems that there was only one house inside.
