The 100 x 100mm K-Series Neutral Density Filter with Quick Release Magnetic Filter Frame is an ND filter with a 16x filter factor that provides a 4-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.2 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
100 x 100mm K-Series neutral density filters are constructed from Gorilla glass for enhanced scratch resistance, increased clarity, and color fidelity. Each side of this filter includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating to prevent internal ghosting and reflections as well as an anti-smear nano coating for an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for greater cleaning efficiency.
The 100 x 100mm K-Series Neutral Density (ND16) Filter is pre-installed with an 100 x 100mm H&Y Filters Quick Release Magnetic Filter Frame for use with an H&Y Filters 100mm K-Series Filter Holder. When combined with a 100mm K-Series Filter Holder that is configured with a pair of magnetic filter slots, filters each with a Quick Release Magnetic Filter Frame can be magnetically stacked in front of a camera lens instead of inserted only within a specific number of filter holder slots, allowing the user to determine the number of filters to be applied, all of which can be quickly installed, repositioned, or switched with a different filter needed for other subjects or changing lighting conditions.
While in use, front-facing center finder rulers on the side sections of this Quick Release Magnetic Filter Frame help enable precise positioning of the 100 x 100mm neutral density filter, relative to another filter it is stacked on. The Quick Release Magnetic Filter Frame also serves to reinforce the edges of the 100 x 100mm neutral density filter, enhancing that filter's rigidity and promoting sharp results by helping to ensure that the filter remains flat. A filter pouch for storage and transport, as well as a microfiber cleaning cloth for filter maintenance, are also provided.

When to Use an ND Filter?
Available in ND8, ND16, ND32, ND64, and ND1000 options, this filter allows precise control over exposure.
An ND Filter is perfect for occasions where you want to reduce the amount of light entering the lens without affecting color balance. It’s especially useful for:
-
ND8 (3 stops): Useful for slight light reduction, such as shooting in the early morning or late afternoon when the light is not too harsh.
-
ND16 (4 stops): Ideal for moderate light reduction, perfect for cloudy or overcast days.
-
ND32 (5 stops): Great for stronger light reduction, suitable for bright sunny days.
-
ND64 (6 stops): Excellent for long exposures in bright conditions, such as flowing water or light trails during the day.
-
ND1000 (10 stops): Perfect for extreme light reduction, allowing for very long exposures to create dramatic effects like smooth water or cloud motion in bright daylight.
